Are turtles and snails the same animal? For 17 years, two bitter lovers have been endlessly arguing this absurd question while living in a decaying apartment. Is the disintegrated man and the assaulted woman hurling imaginary bombs in their delirium, or is there an actual civil war raging outside? Outside? We won’t be the ones to deliver the final word in this fierce debate.
A sharp exchange echoing current events. Even if the self-absorbed characters are ruthless in trying to silence each other, they drown one another in speech. During a verbal confrontation that is both amusing and confrontational, malevolent dreams take center stage—rotten regrets, ghostly memories, and fragments from a bleak past emerge. In this caricature of a couple, each tries to maintain control over the other.
Colorful events, movements, and actions signal stages of destruction, all unfolding in an atmosphere of circus and nightmare—until the discordant interruption of a shattered yet familiar outside world, projected like a cinema screen.
