As they peel away, layer by layer, the thick shells a frenetic society has grafted onto their skin, their bodies merge and transform into a mysterious sea creature. With an imagination that knows no bounds—at times zany and ironic, at others deeply poetic—Habemus Naufragium goes beyond the mere acknowledgment of the inevitable. It invents new paths, protocols of struggle and solidarity, pockets of resistance and vulnerability. Choreographer Silvia Pezzarossi, in duet with dancer Anna-Maria Bayon, stages an extravagant shipwreck to help us rise and navigate the storms of our time. Like a remedy for our eco-anxiety, this vibrant performance is a dose of creative hope to be consumed with eyes wide open. A tribute to our fragilities, to metamorphosis as a means of survival.
