Heart of a Dog

Based on Mikhail Bulgakov's classic novella, Heart of a Dog tells the story of Professor Preobrazhensky, a distinguished Moscow surgeon who transplants human glands into a stray dog named Sharik, transforming him into a crude and obnoxious man. As the creature takes on the worst traits of Soviet society, the professor realizes his experiment has created a monster he cannot control. This sharp and darkly funny adaptation skewers totalitarianism, social engineering, and the arrogance of those who believe they can perfect human nature.
