In this adaptation, based on Mihail Bulgakov’s novel "Heart of a Dog," adapted and rewritten by Emre Tandoğan for four actors, we witness the story of a street dog named Sharik.
Professor Filipovich, a world-renowned scientist, brings a homeless dog from the streets of Moscow to his home. He feeds and operates on the dog. In a strange medical procedure, he transplants the pituitary gland and testicles of a 25-year-old criminal who died in a bar fight into the dog. The operation has unexpected results. The dog transforms into a shameless, lustful, rude, and insolent human. Despite the intended experiment of rejuvenation, the dog cannot rid itself of the instincts and personality traits of the criminal, and a new personality emerges. While Sharik’s human form makes the professor’s life a living hell, he finds a place for himself in the Soviet bureaucracy.
