An adaptation of the 2000 film "Meet the Parents" starring Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman, "My Son-in-law, Will You Be My Son-in-law?" has been rewritten as a typical Turkish family comedy.
Mert and Ayşegül, who love each other very much, decide to get married. The time for the families to meet has come with the invitation of Mr Mümtaz, Ayşegül's father. Unlike his wife Feride, Mümtaz Bey is prejudiced and swears not to give his daughter to Mert. Mümtaz Bey, who has a very disciplined and strict attitude, starts to struggle with the overly sincere and marginal behaviour of Mert's parents, Mükerrem and Fikret. To Mert and his family's gifts of poems, dances and marriage therapy, Mümtaz Bey responds with lie detector tests, hidden cameras and detective work.
