In the 1990s, Yüksekova is torn apart by explosions, sirens, and screams piercing the night. Amidst the chaos, there is a teachers’ lodge, a haberdashery, a school, and Şenay Öğretmen. Sometimes she speaks through memories, sometimes in the present moment, and sometimes through heartfelt songs, looking directly into the eyes of those who listen to her story.
With the legacy, inspiration, and strength of all the teachers her country has lost, Şenay stands before her students—on the podium, unwavering in her belief in the future and in the children who will shape it. In her voice, heart, and mind, one unshakable truth remains:
